Mi sono comprata la tazza da tè di uno dei miei film preferiti di quando ero ragazzina: “I Goonies” diretto da Richard Donner e prodotto da Steven Spielberg e di cui di recente ho letto anche il romanzo di James Kahh edito da Tea, interessante che proprio questa parola significa tè.

Il libro richiama la sceneggiatura integrale compresi i tagli cinematografici come la famosa scena della piovra, che possiamo ritrovare solo in DVD.

Ho visto questo film per la prima volta a scuola quando avevo solo 12 anni e quest’avventura è rimasta nel mio cuore per sempre. L’ho rivisto così tante volte che scrivevo e conoscevo tutte le battute a memoria e avevo una cotta per l’allora sconosciuto Sean Astin, chi lo avrebbe mai detto che lo avremmo rivisto nell’epica trilogia del “Signore degli Anelli”.

La colonna sonora in LP 33 giri era perennemente sul mio giradischi, ballando e cantando la fantastica canzone di Cindy Lauper “Goonies are good enough”, ma innamorandomi anche della romantica song dei titoli di coda tutta a pianoforte, uno degli strumenti che vorrei imparare a suonare, anche se c’è il rischio che se suono la nota sbagliata divento bemolle io!!!

Avevo dodici anni, ora ne ho quasi cinquanta e sola o con gli amici, ho visto questo film almeno un centinaio di volte, un’avventura positiva, carica di humor e con gli effetti speciali dei meravigliosi anni ottanta.

Alcuni anni fa prima del Covid, ho avuto l’occasione di rivederlo al cinema da sola in 4K, una bellissima esperienza dato che da ragazzina non avevo potuto vederlo in una sala cinematografica.

L’ultima volta l’ho rivisto con una persona speciale, è bello poter condividere i film della tua adolescenza con chi ha la tua stessa passione e con cui si crea la complicità di ricordare le stesse battute a memoria.

Le storie di vascelli, pirati e mostri marini, mi hanno sempre affascinato, di cui ho letto alcune mitologiche leggende.

Mi è capitato di visitare un museo una volta qui a Bologna, ed ecco che mi sono ritrovata davanti il teschio di Willy L’Orbo, una teca con almeno un centinaio di teschi sorridenti che mi fissavano, magari era tutta la ciurma. Proprio lì davanti, lo stesso giorno, ho visitato il museo anche di pietre e minerali, il tesoro non era poi così lontano.

Addentrarmi nei musei come andare al cinema mi piace, è come una piccola avventura alla scoperta di qualcosa ogni volta, come avere una mappa e seguirla, proprio come fanno i Goonies, credo di essere una Goonie dentro da una vita, pur essendo un’emotiva come Andy, quella bambina avventuriera che a questa età non muore e non si abbatte nelle difficoltà. Ogni ostacolo che incontriamo è una sfida, una vera avventura, a volte persino un’opportunità, ecco cosa ci insegnano i Goonies.

E ricordatevi che i Goonies never say die!

Goonies never say tea!

I bought myself a teacup of one of my favorite films from when I was a kid “The Goonies” directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielberg and of which I recently read the novel by James Kahn published by Tea, interesting that this word actually means tea.

The book recalls the full screenplay including the cinematic cuts like the famous octopus scene that we can only find on DVD.

I saw this movie for the first time at school when I was only 12 years old and this adventure has remained in my heart forever. I have seen it so many times that I wrote down and knew all the lines by heart and had a crush on the then unknown Sean Astin, who would have ever said then that we would see him again in the epic trilogy of “Lord of the Rings”.

The soundtrack in LP 33 rpm was perennially on my turntable dancing and singing the fantastic song by Cindy Lauper “Goonies are good enough”, but also falling in love with the romantic song of the credits all on piano, one of the instruments that I would like to learn to play, even if there is the risk that if I play the wrong note I become flat!!!

The last time I saw it again I was with a special person, it is nice to be able to share the films of your adolescence with someone who has the same passion as you and with whom you create the complicity of remembering the same lines by heart.

Stories of ships, pirates and sea monsters have always fascinated me, of which I have read some mythological legends. I happened to visit a museum once here in Bologna and there I was, in front of the skull of One-Eyed Willy, a case with at least a hundred smiling skulls staring at me, maybe it was the whole crew. Right there in front of it the same day I also visited the museum of stones and minerals, the treasure was not that far away.

Going into museums like going to the movies I like is like a little adventure to discover something every time, like having a map and following it, just like the Goonies do, I think I have been a Goonie inside all my life, even though I am emotional like Andy, that adventurous little girl who at this age does not die and does not give up in difficulties. Every obstacle we encounter is a challenge, a real adventure, sometimes even an opportunity, that’s what the Goonies teach us.

And remember that the Goonies never say die!
